Grade 1
The teacher will model a skill and the students will practice the skill in their daily writing. Conventions of writing, sight words and editing will also be part of the Writer’s Workshop taught 4x a week.
Grade 2
Mini-lesson and independent writing every day.
Grade 3
Mini-lesson and writing daily following the grade curriculum unit of study based on a workshop approach. The units follow a monthly publishing cycle.

Grade 5
· Students write 20-30 minutes daily across content areas, in class and at home · Specific forms of writing taught in 6-week units requiring students to complete 2-3 published pieces during writers workshop · Basic writing skills taught in mini-lessons or during a Literacy Do Now, as needed
